Section-I (General Knowledge)

1. General knowledge of Indian Railways and C&M Organization.

2. Railway service conduct rules.

3. Factory Act/ Leave Rules/Pass Rules.

4. D&AR Rules, Minimum Wages Act, Payment of Wages Act.

Section-II (Technical Knowledge)

1. Basic knowledge of different Chemical and Metallurgical testing equipments.

2. Basic knowledge of Organic and Inorganic Chemistry on the following subject:

(i) Different Chemical reagents and reactions used in chemical laboratory.

(ii) Elements, Compounds and mixtures.

(iii) Atomic weight, Molecular weight and Atomic structure.

(iv) Solution, Normality, Titration, Catalysis and End Point.

(v) Metallurgy of metals and Non-metals.

(vi) Redox reaction

3. Different type of Heat Treatment Processes.

4. Sample preparation methods for micro, macro, hardness examination.

5. Precautions to be taken during sample preparation and testing in following laboratory/tests:

(a) Mechanical laboratory

(b) Chemical laboratory

(c) Rubber, Oil and paint laboratory

(d) Metallographic laboratory

(e) Ultrasonic laboratory

(f) DPT, MPT and Latest NDT techniques.

6. General awareness on ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001, ISO-50001, IRIS.

7. Awareness about hazards in chemical Laboratory and safe practices of working.

8. NABL accreditation.
